International Marathon In September, runners from all over the world gather to run by Lake Garda with its impressive mountain backdrop. The same month also sees the traditional Show of the Flags, the annual racing event that takes place in Desenzano del Garda and is one of the most famous sailing regattas in Italy. In the same town, visitors will be able to visit the “Fairy Tale Night” in Riva del Garda where you will be surrounded by fairy tale-themed decorations and performances that will transport you into another world. Film Festival The Lake Garda area has always been a popular destination for active holidaymakers and sports enthusiasts who enjoy the unique natural scenery and spectacular mountain landscape. In summer, there are also special events that appeal to families with children. For example, the ‘Salo in Musica’ is an event that offers a varied programme of concerts throughout the summer to give added musical charm to the northern towns of Riva del Garda, Arco and Torbole.
